Where are you traveling to? Have you heard about the Costao do Santinho em Santa Catarina? They have a posh resort Spa with a very nice golf spot.

There are lots of option to choose from:

    Gavea Golf and Country Club
Estrada da Gavea 800, Sao Conrado Brazil
This 18-hole championship Brazilian golf course features nine holes carved out of the jungle, and nine holes along the beach. It is a four-star semi-privateresort course, but itís not hard for tourists to get on at all. Gavea plays host to the International PGA Tourís Brazilian Open.

    Golden Green Golf Club
Avenida Canal de Marapendi 2901, Barra da Tijuca Brazil
Golden Green is an interesting course in Rio de Janeiro involving water, island greens and plenty of palm trees. Golden Green is a lighted course, so if the mid-day heat of summer in Brazil is too much for you, tee of late in the day and play the finishing holes under the lights.

    Itanhanga Golf Club
Estrada de Barra 2005, Barra da Tijuca Brazil
Itanhanga is a par-72, 6,618 yard private course just 15-minutes from downtown Rio de Janeiro. The golf course will play host to the European PGA Tourís Rio de Janeiro 500 Years Open.

i think Brazil should have a lot of golf clubs. as there are many lands to make it. i don't know about the popularity of golf there but don't be tensed about the clubs. they number of clubs may be not high but the quality must have to be high.

Tropical spots are the best spots when it comes to golf. This will be written in my travel book. Thanks!

Golf is not as popular in Rio as it is in Sao Paulo, but Rio de Janeiro has two quality golf courses: the Gávea Golf and Country Club, in the São Conrado district, and the Itanhanga Golf Club, further south in the Barra de Tijuca area. I believe you have to be a member for these as they are private clubs open only to members.
