    I don't understand Portuguese completely, so I prefer watching English movies specially Hollywood even in Brazil.

    Any good Brazilian movie that someone can recommend? I prefer to watch movies in their own original language and read the subtitles.

    I recommend Deus E O Diabo Na Terra Do Sol ( Black God, White Devil).The
    Director is Glauber Rocha.

    I've checked and it's an old movie but with good reviews, not sure can find it here but thanks for the recommendation

    I wonder if Brazilian have local made animation movies as well?

    i have watched some brazilian movies like silent movies,because of my great portuguese skills..my favorite is city of god,its a great movie and also the boys from brazil a great soccer movie.

    I don't keen on watching silent movies or TV shows much, tend to prefer those with voices.

    i like watching Brazilian movies...they are awesome the music,theme and all in the movie....some of my favorite are.....Ganga Bruta (Rough Gangue) by Humberto Mauro (1933) 2. Vidas Secas (Barren Lives) by Nélson Pereira dos Santos (1963)
    3. O Pagador de Promessas (The Promise Keeper) by Anselmo Duarte (1962)
    4. Amei um Bicheiro (I Loved a Numbers Game Runner) by Jorge Ileli (1953)
    5. Assalto ao Trem Pagador (The Pay-Train Robbery) by Roberto Farias (1962)
    6. Central do Brasil (Central Station) by Walter Salles Jr. (1998)

    I am a movie addict. I haven't watch any Brazilian movie yet. Thanks for giving that list, modivilla. I maybe downloading those movies.

    Thanks for sharing! I too don't understand Portuguese, but see that the English subtitle option is turned on . . .
