Are you looking for your higher education in Brazil or planning to move to Brazil permenantly ??
Neither in a way, but kinda interested in the education system there. Every countries' development depends much on the quality of the education given.
University of Sao Paulo is very famous . Many foreign students come to this University each year.
University of Sao Paulo, I just checked on google and noticed it's the top academic and research centre in Brazil as well its tuition fees are free. Is it difficult to study and enter the universities there?
there are a few good colleges but the studies aren't that good...Universidade do sul de santa catarina......University of Campinas ....University of Sao Paulo
The best universities in Brazil generally include the University of São Paulo, the Campinas State University, the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, the University of Brasília, and the Federal University of Minas Gerais, all of which are public. The private Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro is also highly ranked.
Public universities are free and do not charge tuition. I think it's really impressive, what do you guys think?
The best universities in Brazil generally include the University of São Paulo (Universidade de São Paulo--USP), the Campinas State University (Universidade Estadual de Campinas--Unicamp), the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro--UFRJ), the University of Brasília (Universidade de Brasília--UnB), and the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais--UFMG), all of which are public. The private Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro--PUC-RJ) is also highly ranked. Public universities are free and do not charge tuition. Private colleges and universities, which charge tuition, grew very rapidly during the 1970s to meet the enormous demands of a growing middle class.
Students of University of SAo Paolo are admitted by an entrance exam, known as the vestibular (FUVEST), consisting of two steps:
- Part I is composed of 90 multiple-choice questions on Portuguese, English, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Geography, History and Biology.
- Part II is composed of up to 40 write-in, short-answer questions related to each candidate's intended major. Engineering candidates, for example, take Portuguese, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry exams, whereas Law-School applicants are required to take Portuguese, History and Geography tests. All candidates, irrespective of their intended course, must take the Portuguese Language and Literature exam, which includes a compulsory written essay.
Moreover, candidates who attended a public school for their entire course of high-school studies get up to 12% bonus on their Part I and Part II scores, arguably, in order to compensate for the generally low quality of Brazilian public basic education.
I want to study pharmacy abroad. I was told that the best choice for this field is the University of Sao Paolo.
Any idea?
