“Pão de queijo” is typical Brazilian and it’s a delicious snack, which can be found at every “lanchonete” in Brazil.

For the most part, I have heard that the local menu usually consists of fish from local rivers, beef and pork from large ranches nearby, along with soybeans, rice, and corn. Can anyone tell me what your favorite dishes of Brasilia are? Thanks.

This region of Brasilia is made up mostly of dry, open plains, with a wooded area in the north. The Pantanal, which is one of the most famous hunting and fishing regions in the world, is located within this region. Beef, fish and pork are all common, as are things such as rice, maize and soybean.

    Here's a great dessert recipe -

    Biscoitos de Maizena

    Ingredients
    • 200g/7oz Cornflour
    • 1/4 teasp Salt
    • 225g/8oz Granulated Sugar
    • 1 large Egg
    • 1/4 teasp Vanilla Extract( check ingredients)
    • 175g/6oz Butter

    Preparation:

    1. Place the cornflour, salt and sugar in a large mixing bowl and mix well.

    2. Add the egg and vanilla and blend thoroughly then add the butter and mix well.

    3. Set aside for 15 minutes to rest.

    4. Preheat the oven to 190C, 375F, Gas Mark 5 and line 2 or 3 baking sheets with parchment paper.

    5. Form the dough into 2.5cm/1-inch balls and place on the lined baking sheets, spreading well apart. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.

Located at SCS, trecho 2, s/n
    Bairro: Setor de Clubes Sul
    City: Brasilia, DF
    Zipcode: 70200-002

is a dining establishment called Naan. Naan serves Asian Fusion Cuisine and is now located inside the spa Nuwa. Lately the atmosphere has became more intimate, almost exclusively. They only have four tables in the house and the chef prepares four recipes per month to the menu.

In Brazil, Asian cusine generally means either Chinese or Japanese. Similar to many ethnic meals, when they reach a new country they're are normally infused with regional spices, techniques and flavors.

For all you meat lovers, Frommer's states that Corrientes 348 offers a large covered patio and some of the best steaks in town. The menu features classic Argentine appetizers, including grilled red peppers, stuffed empanadas, and grilled spicy sausage. Meat lovers will go insane over the fine selection of prime Argentine steak, such as the ojo de bife (rib-eye) and tapa de cuadril (rump steak).Enjoy!!!
