I love this dish, and I find it to be very common in other countries too, not just Brazil.
In the USA it's also a popular dish in various Hispanic restaurants and homes. It compliments almost any other dish such as fish, meat, turkey, etc.

So what is the main food in Brazil? is it rice or something else?
The main food in Brazil is arroz or white rice, feijao or black beans and farinha which is like flour. These are usually eaten with red meat, chicken or fish.
Over here our main food is white rice as well, together with meat and vegetables but we don't eat much beans at all.
Same here! I just love beans & steamed rice! I love it when taken with green pepper & carrots.
