The Independence Day of Brazil was officially announced on 7th September 1822 from the hands
of the Portuguese.

Yes, I think the same... the main story day in Brazil is 7th of September but also we have 21 of abril (Tiradentes Day) and 15th of November, when the country became a Republic.

When in São Paulo, visit please the Ipiranga Monument, in Ipiranga´s district, the place where Mr. Dom Pedro I has decreed the Independence of Brazil in September 07, 1822, near the Ipiranga´s river. It´s a beautiful place, monument and museum to visit!

Also, the 15th of November is clelebrated as Proclamation of the Republic Day (locally known as Proclamação da República )
