Restart or MPB?
I love brazilian music but I noticed that some young teenagers called Restart now are more popular than Caetano, Gilberto Gil, Bebel Gilberto...What's happening with the brazilian beautiful music? Are they any good?

Hi King...I am a native Brazilian and your question is my question, too. What is happening to our music?
I can assure you that the best years of MPB were the 80s and 90s.
Brazilian music was invaded by FUNK rythm, it is terrible...lol...the teenagers appreciate this kind of bad music.
Anyway, I think that everything is cyclical, and music is cyclical, too.

I think there is no good or bad music. It is the listener's perception and choice what music to appreciate. It so happened that the music genre changed in Brazil. There is always a change.

Where is the poetry? Cazuza, Renato Russo, Elis Regina... Where are you, excellent musicians? Roger from a brazilian band Ultrage A Rigor, said, the rock&pop brazilian music needs to "Restart", a very interesting double meaning. I'm in the 30's and I think the young generation doesn't appreciate the beautiful lyrics anymore...

The AXÉ rythm has been successful in Brazil, and the most famous singers are Ivete Sangalo and Cláudia Leite. AXÉ is a rythm from Bahia, Salvador. Every year emerge new excellent singers.

It depends on the listener, as long as it is nice in the ears.
