What music is native to Brazil?

There's some contemporary music being made by people in Brazil, but there's also music from hundreds or thousands of years ago from the natives.

What instruments do they use and are they any unique ones in Brazil which other places normally don't have?

The most famous Brazilian music is the Samba. Other native music forms are Maracatu, Pagode, Carimbo etc.

samba is like an alias to brazilian culture whenever someone picturises brazil only three pictures come into mind:football field,samba dance and tropical destinations.so it is like a pillar for brazilian culture.

The Bossa Nova is a gentle form of Samba but using more classic instrumentation such as guitar and piano. It was adopted by American jazz legends like Stan Getz and Charlie Bird is probably the most well known internationally. I suppose the Girl from Ipanema is the song most people know.

Yeah, I remembered the song , it was a hit during those days.

Samba is the best known form of Brazilian music worldwide, though Bossa Nova and other genres have also received much attention abroad.

If you want something upbeat, go for Samba.. if you want something relaxing then go for bossanova... I actually a fan of bossa more thatn samba
