My bad luck, as I wasn't able to see the live performance of the most famous dance "Sambha". However, i have seen it in different shows on televison and also on youtube. I have seen the movie "Shall we Dance" which is based on Sambha Dance. It is simply amazing. But, i guess a lot of dedication & hard work is required, because the way they move their body seriously it really need a lot of effort to do so.

samba is inspired by lundu (an african dance) the main difference from most of the dances is that samba focuses on knee and hip movements coupled with rhythmic walking

yes there are many types of samba like samba axe and samba rock, they have some differences but one thing is common and that is they all involve good feet movement and hence are very active dances.

I wonder if it's difficult to learn samba seeing how agile and quick the dance is compare to some other dances.

Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world and is the birth place of the Samba. Much of the music in the heavily populated coastal areas shows a remarkable combination of African, Native Indian, and Iberian influences.

I personally am not a great fan of Samba music, but Samba is one of the most popular forms of music and dance in Brazil. In addition, It is widely considered Brazil's national musical style. The name samba most likely comes from the Afro Brazilian "lundu"( XVIII century), aKa as umbigada or batuque, which is a mixture of African rhythym brought from the slaves of Angola who lived in the state of Bahia.

Brazil is the birthplace of Samba. There are no better Samba dancers on earth than the one in Rio de Janeiro. During the carnival in the Sambadrome you can see them performing with persuasion and enchantment, the two words that aptly describe the origin of samba music and dance. Rio samba dancers beckon watchers with sensuous dance steps, costumes ranging from the grotesque, sleazy, captivating and provocative, whatever whatchamacallits you can label it. The dance attract as it repel in the eyes of different cultures. But it is magic such as the picture in this spread.

Brazil has imported too many African slaves in the past, so they have brought the Samba to Brazil.

Slavery in Brazil shaped the country's social structure and ethnic landscape.

I don´t like samba, I prefer MPB (Brazilian Popular Music), although samba is a very joyful rythm.
