Default Places to see in Curitiba

Honey Island is one of the most unique and tranquil places I have stayed. There are no cars or roads on the island. Travel on the island is accomplished by walking on sand trails and crossing the many beaches. As far as hotels go the island offers primarily small pousadas of varying quality, camping, and a few more developed resorts. Most of my time was spent walking the beaches to some of the fantastic views and frolicking in the surf.

While in Curitaba you may want to pay a visit to Santa Felicidade, which is Curitiba's restaurant district. This area has strong Italian heritage. Enjoy the fine cuisine and catch a glimpse of early Italian immigration in a district dotted with vintage homes such as the Culpi House, the Geranium House and the House of Paintings, which has original frescoes on the walls.

Yes, "Ilha do Mel" or Honey Island is a very popular attraction point to visit in Curitiba, capital of Paraná state, located in the Southeast region of Brazil. Many tourists visit the peaceful island every year.

Curitiba is a very beautiful city, it´s so so cold during the year because the city is located in the South region of Brazil which is colder than other regions. The city has everything you need, excellent infra-structure, good restaurantes, hotels, etc.

Have a good time in Curitiba!

In Curitaba there are many varieties of native plants, the Curitiba Botanical Garden is known for it's greenhouse, made of iron and glass and inspired in London's Crystal Palace. The garden's official name - Jardim Botânico Francisca Maria Garfunkel Rischbieter - pays homage to pioneer urbanist who greatly contributed to the urban planning of Curitiba.

If you get a chance, you should really try to visit iguacu waterfalls

Iguazu Falls was listed as a possible candidate to be one of the new Seven Wonders of Nature by the New Seven Wonders of the World Foundation. As of February 2009 it was ranking fifth in Group F, the category for lake, rivers, and waterfalls. A very beautiful sight to see!

Those who have seen the Iguazu National Park more than once and in different moments of the year agree on one thing: " the waterfalls always surprise you".

Hi Trisha! That is true, but did you know that the waterfalls can be reached from the two main towns on either side of the falls: Foz do Iguaçu in the Brazilian and Puerto Iguazú in the Argentine province of Misiones, as well as from Ciudad del Este, Paraguay on the other side of the Paraná river from Foz do Iguaçu.

If in Curitaba, you may want to vist the historic district. In the historic district, you can view constructions from the nineteenth century, such as the Red House (1891), or older, like the Church of St. Francis, which dates back to the eighteenth century. Very interesting, esprcially if you are in to architecture and history!
