I think it's best to start a business in whatever field you like. You don't want to work in a field that you are not interested in. Do what you love.

You want to think long-term, so try to start a business in a field that will grow in importance throughout the future. You don't want to start in an industry that will be obsolete in a few years or something.

Talking It's best to start a business that really suits your interests!

You know what, it is your choice of what field do you like for your business. I originally thought that I have to run a business that would make me rich in a short period of time. But now, I realized that it's hard to sustain a business that doesn't get your interest in some manner.

Be choosy when indulging in a business. Choose what you like doing most and try to figure it out first before doing any move.

Yes I agree with you. A successful business always come out to you. Your passion and dedication on what you are doing will bring you to your success. There is no point if you always thinking for big income. You have to identify first on what field do you really like to have a business.

I agree that we should go with the field of business that suits our interests. But it's not all about interest, I don't think that it's hard to sustain a business that doesn't relate to your interests. If you'll have success then any field will become interesting for you, then it will bring dedication and passion aswell. The most important thing is in which field you have expereince or you can get really helpful advices and guidelines to have success from experince person in that field. I mean, it is best to start a business in the filed that your ancestors have been. If none of your family members have been in business then interest should be the top priority. What do you guys think?

I agree with them. If you want to go on a business, think of what interest you the most. Then, ask yourself, "Ïs it a need or a want?". Businesses stay long enough because it sustains the needs of most people. If it is just a want, the fashion or the trend, I don't think it will stay long.

In Brazil, I think restaurant or anything that has to do with food is the best business idea.

    Good luck on your endeavor!

I agree with you! Brazilian loves to cook and eat! Starting a restaurant or a food court is a good suggestion.

You know, people anywhere in the world loves to eat. Aside from the fact that one of the physiological needs of man is food to be able to survive.
    This is just one factor.

But you always need to ask yourself if you really want to indulge in this kind of business.

I agree with you Thiago, tourism can be a great business if you know how to manage it!

You just need to have a good knowledge of the culture and history of the place, and a good command of language (Portuguese, Spanish, English if the business you are planning is in Brazil). Train some people that has a good background about the place, and that's it!

    Good luck to your business!

I would suggest the construction industry or hospitality. Both are thriving quite well. However, you should love these areas to make them work- it makes no sense to get involved in a business that your heart is not into.

You should start what you know to do very well, and others appreciate.

There is a nice market place site I discovered. Feel free to check out B2Brazil - B2B Marketplace for Brazil Trade, Brazil Products and Brazil Services. Buy, Sell, and Browse Trade Leads. I find this site very helpful. :-)

FYI: Before LEDs can enter the general illumination market, designers and advocates of the technology must overcome several problems, including the usual obstacles to mainstream market adoption: Industry-accepted standards must be developed and costs must be reduced. But more specific issues remain. Things like lumen-per-watt efficacy and color consistency must be improved, and reliability and lumen maintenance should be addressed. Nevertheless, LEDs are well on their way to becoming a viable lighting alternative.

Brazil is one of the bigger commodities exporter, such as iron ore, so I think you could be successful by exploring products for mining iron ore.

I would suggest doing something in the Brazilian agriculture field, because Brazil has always been known for its important role concerning the export of commodities, being the main exporter of coffee, soy, meat and orange juice. The recent progress concerning the development of new technologies in the country has given it the title of strongest economy in Latin America.

Business related to the commodities exportation such as agricultural products may be an excellent option.

Yes I agree. Promoting market orientation in agricultural advisory services aims to provide for the sustainable enhancement of the capabilities of the rural poor to enable them to benefit from agricultural markets and help them to adapt to factors which impact upon these.

Rice is principally grown in Rio Grande do Sul, in the south of the country. Internal and export demand currently outstrips supply by some distance, so it's a good market to get into.

I know a few traders if you'd like more information.

Sustainable palm oil is a growth area which I know a fair bit about.

    Again, happy to advise.
