The main problem is getting rid of them later if you want to. They may take you to court or something.

I believe they can't be blamed if they have been fired without a legal reason, but does most Brazilian knows a lot of their labour laws?

Why not make such agreements, that the company reserves the right to sack anybody because of his unproductivity or bad behavior or such. Otherwise, I think it will be hard to build a culture in the co.

I believe it's legal to sack a person due to his serious bad behavior but when it comes to performance then it would be a different story.

yes it is legal to sack someone on those grounds,if the companies start venturing employees with low productivity or are bad influences to the work culture they will be in shambles because the workers are hired solely for their capabilities and efficiency.

I wonder how's the working situation over there? Are those workers badly exploited or they are treated well and respect?

I see, I guess that's why I heard life there aren't that stress but sadly some take this opportunity for their own good. Is there anything done about it?

I agree with a previous speaker, the bureaucracy and labor law are extremely anti-entrepreneurial they have more protective laws for employees then the US and Europe. There is also a very high goverment taxation on labor (around 80% on top of the combined wage with the worker) this leads to many companies working in informality. Foreign companies there fore are most likely not to choose Brazil as a cheap labor country as in the end they need to work 100% legal as that is the normal directive form the international Head Quarters.

You can work very well with 3rd party companies/suppliers as to evade these problems!! keep the amount of directly controlled employees to an absolute minimum and try to hire people with CV that shows continuity (some just stay 3 months to go to court and get some money of you!)

    Hope I am being helpful!

    Cheers
