    Is public transit availabe much in Brazil or do you have to rent cabs or cars?

    There are buses in Brazil. Well you can rent a car and hail a cab as well.

    How much is the minimum bus fare in Brazil, rebster? Renting a car sounds good too...

    The Onibus as they are called have a minimum fare of 2reais. There are airconed buses called selectivo that has a minimum fare of 4 reais.
