    Default Biking in Brazil

Do you ever ride your bike in Brazil? Do you have a bike?

I do not have a bicycle, but I should get one. It would be fun, and good exercise. Also, they are much faster than walking.

Bikes are a great form of transportation in almost every country, the only downside is that they aren't as fast as cars, and don't allow you to transport goods/people like cars. And also it's not for everyone since some people no longer have the physical ability to ride one due to their age and/or other factors.

Riding bike is no doubt a fun. I had one during my college days , but now i prefer cars over bike as my main preference is now comfort and personally i feels bikes is too risky.

Yeah, not mentioning at my place the least breathing the air pollution in the busy cities as well unexpected rains and hot weather is really unpleasant.

I love to bike. If my destination is not too far, I take my bike. Not only do I have some exercise but I save on gs money as well.

I love biking. When I was in Japan, I was biking going to my office. It was a fun experience. They have a lane for the bikers there so it is quite safe. How about in Brazil, is it safe to use a bike for transportation?

I think it's safe to travel by bike in Brazil. Not only safe, it's cheaper as well with the high price of gas these days.

Biking is very much safe, most of the population in Brazil has bikes & they make most of their traveling on bikes/bicycles.

Am i not too old to try and learn it? My kids bike better than I do! They are only pre-school levels, yet they can bike without the wheelbalancers anymore.

It must be cheaper, but in the big cities like the one I live Belo Horizonte there is not a exclusive place just for bike, so it is very dangerous to bike in the midle of the cars, even if it is a motobike it is dangerous. It can be nice in some places where people go just for exercice but not really for diary activities. But if you live in a small city it should be great and nice exercice.

Biking is one of the cheapest form of transportation in Brazil. If you are planning to use this of course you should be equipped with safety gears. You may be able to save money since you are just using a bike but you will spend more if accident hits you.

For some awesome mountain biking trails, go to the inland from Salvador to the Chapada Diamantina. These highlands (with fantastic rock structures) look very just like the landscape in the American Southwest.

In addition to some great biking and hiking trails, there's also waterfalls and natural waterslides here. The Chapada Diamantina are truly incredible and beautiful.

Yes, I couldn't agree more with you, rebster. The price of gasoline is totally out of control. I am thinking about getting a bike myself and using it as my central mode of transportation! (at least for the summer and fall seasons anyway!)

Price of gas just keeps climbing! GRrrr! I wouldn't be surprised to see $5 gas by the end of the year. Legislators are not saying anything about it, the oil companies are reaping enormous profits, and the independent gasoline retailer along with the public is the loser.

There are many benefits that are associated in biking. You can save money at same time it makes the heart pound in a steady manner and helps improve cardio-vascular fitness.

Did you know that President Rousseff of Brazil, created "Way to School", a national program that provides 100,000 donated bikes and helmets to students in public schools, the federal government took another important step to encourage the culture of cycling in the country.
