Places to take my girlfriend around Salvador???
Hi fellas, my girlfriend will take me to Salvador next month to meet her family and I am really scared!!!
First, I don't know what to buy and take to her parents. Any ideas???
Second, I don't wanna have a felling that I will be a useless guy overthere (I barely understand portuguese) and I want organise a little trip and make a surprise for her.
We will spend 14 days and Salvador and I am planning to take her out from the city for 3 or 4 days. Any ideas about places around? I want to rent a car, shall I wait and do this in the airport or should I book in advance? How is the weather there in February? Also, if you have some ideas for 2/3 nights would be really nice!!!
Thank you
Jonny

Jonny, You should take them to Mercado Modelo. This is a nice market place. Mercado Modelo is a nice place
for barter shopping, among all the different wares there you will find everything from from arts and crafts
to clothes, jewelry, CDs and DVDs. You can probably pick up some nice gifts for you girlfriends family there
without putting a big dent in you wallet! Enjoy.

You should make a trip to the Costa do Sauipe!!!
It's a great place to visit by the sea. I would suggest you to rent a car and go around the sea side towards north. It's only 76 Km from Salvador and you will pass by a lot of nice and cute beaches. The journey will take about 2h if you go very slow.... This place is surrounded with a such beautiful view with lakes, rivers, dunes, Atlantic forests and the SEA. There are a few hotels in the Costa do Sauipe but with very good standard. If you want to make your girlfriend happy take her there. She will enjoy a lot this place!!!

When in Salvador, please rent a good car and take your girlfriend to the wonderful beaches in Salvador, such as Itapuã, Porto da Barra, Stella Maris, Piatã, Pituaçu, Armação, Jardim de Alá, Pituba, Ondina, Faról da Barra, and so on.
The Salvador coastline is one of the most extensive in Brazil. Split between uptown and downtown, there are about 50km of beaches.
Have a nice stay in Salvador!
