Do you own a car? Why or why not?

    They're too expensive for me.

No, I don't have a car. I can't afford to have one. It costs a lot, especially considering insurance, gas, and such.

Quite a number at my place here owns a car like me, I guess it depends on certain places as our public transportation isn't that good. I believe Japan has really nice public transportation although it seems expensive.

Yes, I have a car. Ford Mustang Black color. Its not that expensive, one can afford if he has a good income. The main reason I am owning a car is because I love going for long drive, simply I love driving.

I own a car too. Its very hard to imagine life without a car. A car is essential when public transport is unreliable. It may be expensive but it honestly saves a lot of time in travelling.

I have a '77 Toyota SR. But with the high price of gas these days, I usually don't drive it around anymore.

I don't have a car for now. But I am wishing to have one soon. It is like treating myself for all the hardwork. Well anyway, its not a necessity for me at the moment (good because price of gas is soaring very high.)

I thought of selling my car because it uses too much gas but it got sentimental value to it, being my first car and all.
So I kept it and take it for long drives during weekends.

now that was a bit drastic rebster. There are other ways to cut fuel costs. Drive on high gears. Do not use the brake much and try to keep it on the free gear.

I tried those tips girl but there's just too much traffic to stay in high gear. I tried driving around with the aircon turned off but I can't stand the heat.
Anyone got any more advise for me?

I sold my car. Now I'm using mass transportation such as bus and trains to move around the city.

I've looked into it and Mazda 6 should be a pretty good car . It's going to be brand new...there isn't a better time to get one than now when all the prices are low .

The public transportation is really inconvinient here, IMO. It doesn't take you to the door of where you need to be, they're always packed with people so there's absolutely no space to breathe (or sit), it always takes doubble the time to get to your destination (compared to driving yourself)...and well, we got pretty harsh winters here with snow...the public transportation gets affected by that. Driving is alot more convinient - if that convinience comes with a price then fair enough...

How bad are gas prices over there in Brazil? Can you survive without a car? I was thinking of walking mainly when I arrived there.
