Is it true that most people in the world don't have a car? How many people in Brazil have their own car?

I never realized how few people in the world have a car, but I guess it makes sense considering that there are billions of people living in poverty.

Many people in the world owns a car but I don't think majority has it but rather through families and such, if most of the population in the world has their very own car our world would become a deluxe microwave very soon , kinda scary as it is happening now but it's hard to find a solution for this problem.

Soon, our scientist are going to come up with the solution. Use of Solar power, by trapping the solar energy will eliminate the problem of fuel and thus every one can enjoy this form of transportation.

Even though it gonna take decades for solar and other alternatives energy to fully used by the world, I really hope it can be done soon before things gets bad.

I think most of the people around the globe do not have cars especially in the 3rd world countries. It is like a luxury for them instead of necessity.

I do think that majority of car owners would prefer not to use them because of the rising gas prices.

I agree. Where will you spend your money, food or car? If you buy food, you will have full stomach and get satisfaction. If you buy car, you will need more money to spend on gasoline and maintenance.

I don't have a car. But my husband does. He loves car a lot. And I don't understand his reasons for that.

    I don't think I need to own a car.

First, there are lots of public vehicles out there to give me a ride.
Second, as some of you posted, gasoline is really pricey.
Third, I don't know how to drive. A driver is a must if I would buy my own car.

I do the walking if I go somewhere near. I already saved my money for the fare, I also saved gas, and I also had an exercise! Now, who needs a car?!

there are series of oil price hike everywhere (except for middle east countries of course) and I don't think it is still practical to buy car these days although I have my own car, I have no plans of upgrading it since I prefer using public transport

Nowadays, there are vehicles that can run by using water only as alternative to gasoline. That would be very good! That's very environment friendly!
