    Default Hitch-hiking in Brazil?

I'm not sure but I find some countries including mine does not have this hitch hike thing but I wonder if it's rather easy to hitch-hike in Brazil?

I hitch hiked in Brazil a long time ago but it was very difficult and was only picked up by people who had lived abroad. Othwise I used to go to truck stops and asked the drivers there. As far as I know there is no word for it in Brasileiro, they used to use the French words Auto Stop.

The translation to Brasilian Portuguese is "Carona".

I've never hitchhiked and I hope I never need to do that ha ha ha

I guess it is difficult, because of criminal levels of my country.

*it is something like, i dont know if you are a thelf so it is better I dont pick you up*

I personally wouldn't recommend hitch-hiking anywhere because of safety. I live in America, and i still don't do it

Hitch hiking in Brasil??!?!?! Ouch...to be honest I would rather walk it then try that. It sounds way too risky to try in such a high crime country!

I don't think it's safe to hitch-hike, whatever country you're in. You could save on the fare but you might compromise your safety.

I have to agree, I would not hitchhike anywhere! But if you want to get robbed, pummeled, beaten, and sodomized go ahead and have fun!

I once did hitch-hiking in my country at around 5pm since there was a transportation strike that time. Hmm... I am not so afraid of hitch-hiking but I also look out for my safety. I tried refusing a guy who offered a ride and he was so disgusted.
