But if you want to visit some castles I would recommend Castelo do Barão, Castelo de Pedras Altas, Castelo do Pereira
Ilha Fiscal and Castelo do Batel. I heard that the Palace Castelo in Curitiba is beautiful... is worth to have a look!

Hi Barefoot, to answer your question - Seasons in Brazil are the the opposite of those of those in Europe and United State
For example in Brazil the following table describes the dates of the season:
Spring: 22nd September - 21st December
Summer: 22nd December - 21st March
Autumn: 22nd March - 21st June
Winter: 22nd June - 21st September

You could visit Paço de São Cristóvão ( also known as) The Palace of Saint Christopher. This is a palace found at the Quinta da Boa Vista park in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It had formerly housed the Emperors of Brazil. Beautiful to visit specially if you are so much into Disney, it does have that fairy tale look to it! :-)
