You will either need to get married to a Brazilian or have a child with a Brazilian to be granted citizenship. However, for those that do not want that sort of obligation to start off with, then you will need to show that your presence in Brazil will benefit the people and economy in some way.
There are moments when Brazil opens up amnesty to certain people. You can also try during this period to get your citizenship also.
If you have been living in the country for two years on legal grounds and not left you can also apply for Brazilian citizenship.
The first thing you want to do on your journey of becoming a citizen is to:

I don´t think so. I think you won´t gain citizenship by joining the military career. I think Brazilian military don´t accept foreign people.
