Your going to need a lot of spare money to invest in Brazil if you want to become an official resident. To come here and hang out, you just need enough to pay your travel expenses and pay your living expenses.
It depends on what comfort of living you are used to and want to have. People get by on very little money, while other people require a certain standard of living which requires a larger amount of money.
Panama? I'm not sure but does the cost of living in Panama and Brazil similar to one another? I do know Panama uses American Dollar as their main currency though.
As mentioned above it completely depends on you, whether you can spend lavishly or not. But however Panama is quite affordable(cheap) with the world class infra-structure like Brazil. People often move to Panama after their retirement to spend their rest of life..
I guess that would be nice since Panama is near to Brazil, when you're free just hop on and have fun in Brazil then go back Panama and enjoy sweet life![]()
Exactly , I did that on my vacation. Since I was alone on my vacation, I decided to visit Panama as well. Must say both countries are simply amazing. I think one should definitely move to these country after their retirement ...
Hi,
My husband and I are stateside, but we have been residents in Panama for 3-1/2 years. We are seriously contemplating a move to Brazil instead of Panama. We are very interested in information from people actually living in Brazil. Forums are the way we made dear friends in Panama. When we visited, they helped us get around and meet other people. My attachment to Panama at this point is mainly because of the new friends/family that we have met.
I have Multiple Sclerosis, but I am ambulatory. I only need a motorized chair when I go to the mall or on long walking outings, due to extreme fatigue. We would like to visit during the off season which I figure would be after Christmas and Carnival. Due to my heat intolerance, I don't think I need to live anywhere near the Equator, and I utterly hate anything that resembles cold weather and snowFrom reading, it seems that the north eastern part of the country will suit us well. I have read about Marica, Fortaleza, Natal, and a few others. We have a limited budget and would like to know the approx. cost of living on a modest budget. We like the ocean, but we don't want to live on the beach, a distant view would be good. We would want to build a small, one level house that is about 9 feet off the ground (on beams). We don't want to live in a total expat community, and no tourist areas, construction and condos. We like to be around people, but not like here in the hustle and bustle of the Atlanta area. We want to learn Portuguese, and totally enjoy the culture and the Brazilian people.
We are looking to converse and meet people though this forum, and hopefully make lifelong friends. I am 58 years old and my husband is 46.
I will appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks,
Panamabev
