What do you invest in? I try to spread my investments out. You know, don't carry all your eggs in one basket.

I want to invest in a local business. Like a shop or a small store--something like that.

I know it's good to spread out, but I like to have a lot of stake in one company so I can focus all my attention on that.

I don't really invest anything now but I would try to diversify if possible especially if it's a big one, currently thinking of investing some online business or something.

But don't u think it is much more risky ?? Moreover startup business require funding several times(making it a big sum) before generating any return ...

yes thats true but risk is always there even if you are crossing the road to get to the other side,so for safety we can sit back at our home and enjoy, risk taking is part of life.

well, what you are saying is for people who belongs to opulent class i.e one who already have enough fund to take risk and invest anywhere sitting at home . But what about working people , like us who like to earn some more bucks, investing small amount somewhere.

well my friend this is what some of the business magnets did,we have to take some risks for moving to the next level and to become an opulent.yes there is a chance that you might loose your savings but if you do make big,its all good at the end of the day.

Mate , you are not getting me . Risk is fine but what if one don't have enough money to invest. You are looking from the perspective where people, have enough money to invest and take any kind of risk , not from the point of common people.

yes but this is the case study,i think this is the best option for me,generally people want safety as a priority but when you want to speed things up,you have to take the risks.sometimes it gives negative results too but atleast you know that you tried.

It is because, you have at least bucks, money to venture so you can take a risk. Not everybody have the same position, thats what i mean.

well that depends on which field you are choosing but having 50,000$ is a good investment to head start for a good company then within next 3 years you can build up.

No, its not that . Just whatever i save , I invest those in shares. Had a good return from them, so I am reinvesting those bucks again and again, thus making an amount.

I haven't really invested in Brazil yet... it seems like you have to jump through a lot of hoops. Plus, Brazil seems pretty socialistic and anti-business friendly, and you can be scammed by Brazilians if you don't watch out. So, all my investments are elsewhere for now.

anyone who interests can give me a message, or just give me some information about this in your place, reach me at: neo_landers@yahoo.com
    thank you all, regards

to have a business is a perfect way to invest your income and savings. Of course you must take also into consideration the steps, requirements to have a successful business. Always go to the field that fits to your interest.

In Brazil we invest a lot in Real estate and the forex market is beginning to take new wings here as well. I think that anyone that wants to make it big in Brazil should invest in real estate and the construction market. These are big areas especially in cities such as Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and São Paulo. However, for those that like to sell goods then I would suggest opening up shops with original items. Brazilian women like new trends and if you have something original to sell like earrings, clothes shoes etc, then you wil always BE OUT OF STOCK. Brazilian men are also suckers for trends as well- they like to dress well and so on- so definitely a shop would make it big. A restaurant is also another good option- but it would be better to build one in the upper class areas.

The upcoming events in Brazil, like the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics, plus the already growing economy, will give Brazil a huge leap in its tourism market.

So anything related to that could relate to that might be a good investment.
For example, a sports bar in Rio, a themed restaurant in São Paulo, or maybe a cozy hotel at one of the thousands of Brazilian beachs.

They are foreseeing great growth in Brazil for the next decade, so an investment there is probably an extremely smart thing to do.

    Hello Sarah,

Yes, you are in the right place to spread your investments, because Brazil is been growing strongly too fast. Brazil is an immense country, and an immense market, with excelent opportunities. Brazilian economy grows mainly due to commodities. Yes, we are the commodities owners (Gas, oil, ore, gold, gems, agricultural, farm products, etc.).

I think you could invest in High Technology in Brazil. Brazil needs to develop this area.

Anyway, BOVESPA (Brazilian stock exchange) maybe only the one that is growing in the world, and you may invest in Petrobrás (oil), Vale (ore), and Banks companies.

    Good luck for you!

Hey all, no recessions in Brazil. Brazil is very strong now. Brazil needs good investments in infra-structure services, such as new airports, more ports, more railways, etc. Please visit the website www.sebrae.com.br and ask them tips for good business opportunities in Brazil. This website is specialized in guidelines for new investors.

    Good luck!

i think stock investment is hot cake now. it is not only profitable but also can give you a good percentage of return than fixed depositing the money in the bank for 2-5 years. so choose a good company and invest. i think you will be amazed to see the return in one year. it will be almost double. if you can choose the right item.
    thanks

I live in Vancouver BC, Canada and I had planned a trip to Sao Paulo to get some marketing information but had to cancel at the last minute. I work for a client with some $$ to invest.
I still need the information so I am hoping someone will help. The project was very simple, it was:
    1. Go to the 2 most popular local retail outlets in Sao Paulo that sell fans and check out the retail
price of ordinary air cooling fans that you would put on a table or stand alone on their own stand.
    2. Get the price of oscillating fans, non-oscillating fans, wall-mount fans, and ceiling fans by taking a
picture of price tags and fans or otherwise record the prices.
    3. If there are any other popular styles of fans not mentioned in item 2 above make a note of these as
    well.
    4. Try to find out the wholesale price of these fans.
    5. Interview a salesperson at the store and find out which fan sells best and also approximately how
many fans per week are sold at that outlet.
    6. Find out which type fan sold is the most popular.
    7. Figure everything out in US dollars
It actually doesn't matter which major city in Brazil this is done in as long as it is really hot there.
I was planning to do this in 1 afternoon. If someone was willing to do this for me and save me the trip
I would be willing to pay $200 US for the information. I can do PayPal, Western Union, or however you
want it with $100 US up front and the rest on completion. If I get no interest I guess I will just have
to wait until the next trip. Can anyone out there help me? Thank you.

For me, i think the best investment would be restaurant or a food chain. Food is a basic commodity and your market would be all the people. Because basically, food is important in our daily living. So i think you must invest in food commerce..
