I always wondered what the difference was between Spanish and Portugese. Would I get by speaking Spanish to a person that only spoke Portugese? Would we both understand each other?

It is interesting that you at least know a very basic portuguese, as here in Brazil most of people doesn´t speak any other language, but if you speak spanish it can help.

I speak Spanish and after a few days in Brazil I understood almost everything they said in Portuguese. The languages are pretty similar (with a few exceptions).

Eu falo portugues mais o menos, mas e uma lingua q tem muitos regras e leis q naum sao sempre esta faceis pra entender. Eu aprendo mais a cada dia ainda.

You sort of need to get pregnant with the language, then it goes faster.
