Default How is the average salary in Brazil?

some politicians are making a lot of money doing nothing while some people are working very hard. How it is possible? Politicians earning around 20K reals per month, it's true? While working class less than 1K per month? But how is really the average salary in the industry?

It depends on skills, qualifications, spoken languages, graduations and locations, pointing that, I would say that the average salary in Brazil would ROUGHLY be around R$2.000,00 or $1,200.00 USD per month or $14,400.00 USD per year.

For higher education skills the average salary would ROUGHLY be R$5.000,00 or $3,000.00 per month or $36,000.00.

For lower skills and education, the average salary would be ROUGHLY be R$1000,00 or $600.00 per month or $7,000.00 per month.

There are too many non skills workers in Brazil, that´s why the average salary is lower than other countries.

    hey Mprado,
i think you are making little mistake. will you plz check the conversion between Rs and $? i am not sure about that.
i don't think for a good job DEGREE is necessary. the main thing to get a good job is your presentation skill at your side of job. if you are searching for engineering job. then you must have passed from any kind of engineering institutes or Universities. but after joining the job a huge training will be given. its common for any industry. by this you will learn haw to maintain your work as well as job. so Degree is value less for me.

As of 2005, the Gross Average Annual Employment Income is 10,268 real.. Income do vary depending on the job. I did a little research and I found out that an Airport pilot has the highest income.. I never expected that one.. But it's a fact

This is so untrue. College degree holds anything when it comes to work. You get knowledge and experience when you have a particular work. It is easier to find a job and get one if you have a degree. Trainings and practice may come when you don't have a college degree but its a burden in the employer's part. They have to spend time and money again for a non-degree holder to learn in order to work smoothly. Many people question why degree holders are so sought after in companies looking to hire new staff. The reasoning is simple because the process for earning a bachelor's degree requires the student to involve into a number of disciplines, including the arts, humanities, mathematics, science and logic. There are also degree programs that require internships, cooperative learning and real-world application of the information they have studied. This makes the degree holder a more attractive candidate for many positions.

I tend to disagree with you Barefoot... I have many friends with degrees and no practical experience. Also the competency of today's teachers and professors is questionable. As a business owner I would much rather hire a street smart hard worker! Just mu opinion though. :-)

    Street Smart-
Can figure out problems easily, Resourceful, know how people and society work, but less likely to get a great job, but possibly a career in business

    Book smart-
Know stuff, more likely to get high paying job(doctor, engineer)
but not as well versed on people.

You need to be both, as well as athletic.

I think there must be increase in average salary for the person having university degree. But government has no
Intention to give increment for the educated persons. There must be more salary package given to the doctors and other public servants with out them there is no way out.

I agree to you Alejandro. In other countries public servants have a higher salary but in some countries even though they are developing then the salary for government employees is low.

Yes, the average salaries in Brazil aren´t so good as in USA, Europe, Australia, etc, because the salaries are very correlated to the GDP (PIB, in Brazil).

The Brazilian PIB isn´t so high to pay high salaries. The minimum wage is only 545,00 BRL per month (about $320.00), anyway, the cost of living is very high and only politicians earn good salaries.

PLEASE, I AM SAYING ABOUT "AVERAGES".

The minimum wage in Brazil is 500 reais. But the average in São Paulo is between 1500 to 2000 reais, in industry and commerce. Even though in the poor regions of North and Northeast the minimum wage is accepted as a good salary by workers with no specified qualification.
