    Default Mingling with Brazilians

Are minority communities in Brazil segregated or do Brazilians mingle with minorities and immigrants provided that the minorities are also willing to integrate into the society?

I understand that the Japanese community is fairly large, and do they live harmoniously with other Brazilians, like beyond enjoying each others ethnic cuisines?

I apologize if there are many threads related to racism already. I'm just curious as I'm interested in learning Portuguese and eventually work in Brazil one day.

    Thanks in advance.

There is racism in all around the world, but in Brazil it is very light, not so hard as other countries. The minorities live well with the majority.

There is a good article located here - BRAZZIL - News from Brazil - Racism and discrimination Brazilian style that explores your question more thoroughly. The article is by Rosemary Gund and is entitle "Not Black and White" Definitely worth reading!
