Hi allbrazil, I have never been to Maceio but there is a lot to do at Maceio's beaches from what I am told. The best sightseeing experience is to take a boat out to the natural pools. There are colorful reefs off the coast of Maceio, and at low tide they turn into swimming pools.

Hi all, yes I have been in Maceió, and I found the best paradisiac beaches of the northeast region of Brazil, beside Natal and Fortaleza.

Maceió is a very quiet town, perfect for resting, beaches and good foods. Green and warm waters with many coconut trees around the beaches, make Maceió´s beaches one of the best places to stay in the northeast region of Brazil, beside Fortaleza and Natal beaches too.

Please don´t forget to know the most beaufiful beaches in Maceió: Sonho Verde (wonderful beach), Ponta Verde, Praia do Francês, Barra de São Miguel, and Cruz das Almas (for surfing).

Maceió has also a nice food such as fish and sea fruits.

I went to Maceio in 2003 to learn portuguese at the Fast Forward Language School. I haven't been back since, but I might very well go later this year!

A wonderful sea city of Brazil, located in the Northeast region.

Wonderful and peaceful beaches, green, hot and calm waters.

Maceió is one of the most desired places to go when Paulistas go in holidays...

    We Brazilians love Maceió!

I have lived in Maceio and I currently own property there. It is indeed beautiful and scenic. What I enjoy about living there, is that it has all the amenities of a large city, yet feels like a small town. The beaches are clean and relatively quiet, except for weekends and holidays, the water is quite tranquil due to a reef, especially along the popular Ponte Verde area. If you are looking to surf, praia de Frances is a small resort town 20 minutes away that has fantastic waves for surfing.
