guiz do you know it the Brazilian government and the Red cross have decided to release the hostage of Colombia. here is the detail news:

Brazil and the International Committee of the Red Cross agreed to provide logistical support for the planned release of five Colombian public servants held captive by leftist rebels, Colombia's government said Thursday.

Officials in Bogota are now waiting for the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, to specify a date and location for the handover, President Juan Manuel Santos' administration said in a statement.

The Colombian government is ready to do everything necessary to facilitate the release of the five men, Santos said Monday.

The process is in the hands of government liaison Eduardo Pizarro and former Sen. Piedad Cordoba, leader of the group Colombians for Peace, who are "managing it with complete discretion," the president said.

In a Dec. 8 letter to Cordoba, the FARC offered to free a police officer, two soldiers and two municipal politicians without conditions as a gesture of support for the opposition lawmaker, who was recently ousted from Congress by the Colombian Inspector General's Office for allegedly collaborating with the guerrillas.

The FARC said it will free police Maj. Guillermo Solorzano, captured in 2007; army Cpl. Salin Sanmiguel, 2008; and marine Henry Lopez Martinez, 2010.

Also to be released are the municipal council presidents of the southern cities of San Jose del Guaviare, Marcos Vaquero; and Garzon, Armando Acuņa, both kidnapped in 2009.

Since January 2008, the FARC has handed over 14 politicians, police and soldiers to Cordoba, whose attorney announced Thursday that she will not pursue legal remedies to overturn the action of the IG's office in booting her from the Senate and barring her from holding any public post for 18 years.

The Brazilian government and the Red Cross provided assistance for the earlier FARC prisoner releases.
