Porto Alegre is well known in Brazil for its diverse nightlife. The city has lots of clubs, pubs, bars and restaurants that provide entertainment for a wide range of tastes and budgets, going from the cheap, traditional beer-'n-bite in a corner bar to all-night raves, and classy nightclubs.

Porto Alegre, the largest city in southern Brazil, is the capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, land of the Gauchos and churrasco. If you like sports or you like football (or soccer), you must visit stadiums in Porto Alegre. One is Beira Rio. It belongs to the best team in the world, Internacional. The colour of this team is red. It's a huge stadium.

Redenção is one of the biggest parks in the city and is located near the business center of the city. Inside the park there are many temples. The best day to visit the park is on Sunday, when it hosts a flea market (Brique da Redenção).

When in Porto Alegre you must experience a boat trip on the Rio Guaíba. The boats depart from the tourist dock near the Usina do Gasómetro (Avenida João Goulart), to the west of the city center, and sail to the Ilhas do Lage and dos Marinheiros, where there are quaint little beaches that offer outstanding bathing in summer.

I often like to visit Chalet of the XV de Novembro Plaza
Located along the Glênio Peres Square, it is one of the most traditional bar-draft beer-restaurants in the city, where the last “lambe-lambe” photographs of the region work. “Lambe-lambes” are photographers who develop pictures outdoor using the oldest method known.

Check out Rocco Confectionery it is a majestic art nouveau building located on the corner of Riachuelo Street and Doctor Flores Street, next Conde de Porto Alegre Square in Downtown Porto Alegre. Built between 1910 and 1912 by Salvador Lambertini and Manuel Itaqui Barbosa Assunpção for the Italian-born confectioner Nicolau Rocco, it shows plenty of adornments on the facade, including huge pilasters, powerful atlantes and fine iron work to the many balconies. Its exquisite products and luxurious inner spaces made it a traditional meeting point for the fashionable and enlightened society ( people like Góes Monteiro, Eurico Gaspar Dutra, Getúlio Vargas, Daltro Filho e Mário de Andrade), where took place also balls and banquets. It is a City Heritage building since 1997.
In 2006 was restored and hosted the " Casa Cor 2006 " ( an architectural / interior design annual event ).Nowadays the rocco building is kept closed.
