I haven't been there but I know for sure that they have a nice weather, the city is very pretty and they are just in the border with Amazonas. This town is an important trade center for a mineral called cassiterite.

What's cool is that there are floating bars on the River Madeira, which are a great meeting place for tourists and residents and also the Railway Museum is one of the city's most important museums. The other is the Rondônia Museum, which houses the fossils of pre-historic animals and artifacts relating to the natives who inhabited the region.

If you enjoy partying and nightlife, you must check out the corner of Avs Pinheiro Machado and Presidente Dutra is the epicenter of Porto Velho's nightlife. Three bars in row - Emporium, Estação do Porto and Buda's Bar - serve up beer, mixed drinks, and a cool, bohemian-ish atmosphere that draws a mixed-age crowd. Weekends are busiest, of course, and occasionally feature live music.
