There are many natural resources in Rio Branco which makes for a very nice eco-friendly tour.

A few neat places to visit while in Rio Branco would be - Casa do Seringueiro, which is a museum that shows the history and lifestyles of rubber-tappers. Also, you may want to check out - The Museu da Borrachá (Museum of Rubber) it gives a lot of history on the ethnic background of Acre, and the rubber Industry.

Not to mention - Catedral Nossa Senhora de Nazaré, this like a beautiful cathedral!

Acre’s first capital building, the dignified Palacio Rio Branco is currently a tourist attraction. It consists of a maze of interconnected rooms containing appealing and well-done displays on prehistoric artifacts, indigenous communities, Chico Mendes and the Acrean Revolution. Tour guides are available for free guided tours, though you’ll have to understand Portuguese. (The same is true for the all displays.)
