    Default Sending gifts to Brasil

I have a friend in Sao Paulo and I would like to send a christmas gift. I will be sending this from the USA. What issues will I run into? Are there maximum dollar amounts for gifts? Will my friend have any problems receiving the gift? Please help with any information I will need to make this easy.

No, problem. You can send gifts for your friends in Brazil, but depending on the product, the custom house may charge 60% of taxes.

You have to explain that it is only a gift, and no taxes into it.

The importation tax in Brazil is about 60% for almost all products.
