    Default Racism

This is a terrible issue all over the world.

But has anyone noticed any excessive racism in Brazil, if so, in what particular area?

Unfortunately, if you do encounter it, and it's aimed negatively towards you, for example you move into a neighborhood where the people hate you because of your race, the best thing to do is to ignore their ignorance and move on and demonstrate to them that your human too and that you won't stoop to their level. However, if it gets to the point where it might be dangerous (they start to beat you, threaten to kill you etc.) You should consider moving or contact the authorities right away and get some good security..

I'm not so sure whether racism happened in Brazil or not, but maybe in some areas. In my thinking, racism is absolutely something that can't be tolerated. It's sad to know that even in football nowadays racism happened.

Racism is everywhere. I even found myself guilty sometimes because of what I am thinking about the people who are different to me. I just hope that crimes because of racism will be lesser since we as people don't have the right to judge the others because of the color of their skin, their social status, etc. We are all wonderful people because God made us.

Racsim is completley wrong, but reverse racism is just as wrong.

We should stop looking at our differences.
GeekZ, what's reverse racism? That term is new to me.

In America it is common for African Americans to blame caucasions for all there problems.

Really? Well, there are a lot of people who are not aware what they are doing in their lives and if they got in trouble, they blame someone else for all their misfortunes. I don't mean that African Americans are like this. This kind of behavior is present in all races. Blaming someone of your problem is not even a racism problem. The problem is the person itself.

It does however become a race problem when you blame a race for your general problems. Yes crap happened in the past - it has very little effect on the choices someone makes today.

If people just stop looking at the color or religion or our differences, this could be a better place to live in.
    It all starts with one.

I agree with you, rebster! I have one point to clarify. Is it also because of the differences in traditions and culture which tend us to be feeling different with other races?

I do think that certain traditions are frown upon by those who don't know anything about that certain culture. If we learn more about our differences, I do think that it would lessen discrimination.

I believe it so. Respecting each other's differences will help lessen the gap between differences cultures, race and traditions.
