Default Things to do in Teresina

Check out the church of Our Lady of Lourdes, built in 1961 and decorated with sculptures by the masters Dezinho and Expedito, It is one of the most famous sculptors in Piauí, and the gardens of the Karnak Palace - seat of state government - designed by Roberto Burle Marx. Defintely a must see!

Yes it is a must see alright! I would also recommend Palácio da Cidade and the Centro de Artesanato also. If you are more of a religious type and like old chruches based on what I read in your post then another selection to see is: Igreja de São Benedito.

If you are like me and interested in the history and culture of Teresina, you definitely must check out the Piauí Museum containing religious art, Indian artifacts and fossils. The Karnak Palace, center of the State Government built in the Greek-Roman style, is also worth a visit. A beautiful piece of architecture is the 4 de Setembro Theatre, which is a 113-year-old theatre with Neo-Gothic arches.

When in Teresina make sure to grab a glass of fresh sugar cane juice, chugged down with a pastel, in one of the small luncheonettes, then stroll across Praça Pedro II to the fabulous Central de Artesanato to buy some traditional craft-work, before heading off to eat some fine meats or the excellent local crabs.

Are there strip clubs in Teresina, and is it legal there? Just curious, thanks! :-)
