Default What makes a beach good?

People like to compare beaches. How do you compare them? What do you look for in a beach?

I think cleanliness is the most important feature. Other than that, I like a place that has good weather and a lot of sand. I don't like rocky beaches.

Crystal clear environment and beautiful scenario are two most important aspects that determines a beach beauty. I love any beach as long it has good sands.

Apart from what you guys have said, fun facilities with many people around really spices up the beach especially if you want to have fun with the crowd but if you wish to have a quiet and relaxing then it would be the one without those people and such.

I like an uncrowded beach. I want to enjoy its beauty in solitude.

What I am looking for in a beach is the laid back kind where you can really relax and have some private time for yourself...

I go to the beach to relax, that's why I don't like the crowd. Maybe others go to the beach to be seen but that's not my scene.

I like going to the beach... but it must meet my list of requirements... white sand not rocky, clean water and environment and good sights to explore...

I am looking forward to seeing the beaches in Brazil. The sand is so white and fine. Easy to walk on, like powder, I hear. The ocean is very rough, though, so I am a bit afraid. I hear that there are many drownings there. Anybody know?

    Default Copacabana Beach

I hear that the Copacabana Beach in Rio is magnificent. I am going to ask a weird question. Since my kids are coming with us, do I have to worry about any nude beaches in Rio? Just wondering

This really made me smile I would love to know that as well I think the scenery is nice since corporate buildings near a paradise, employees must be really relaxed and cozy after a hard day

I enjoy a beach that is close to a bathroom. LOL. Nothing worse than having to trek through the hot sand with a child to locate a place to go. I think that is my biggest pet peeve.

A beach is good if it is clean, spacious, has lush vegetation (coconut trees to be exact), beautiful and not too easy to get to. Before you stare at my last point my reason is as follows: a beach that is not too easy to get to will not have that many people there and as such the natural surrounding will be a lot more inviting since a lot of things would be preserved a lot better.

Yes, in my opinion a paradisiac beach must be small beach (300 or 500 mts only), very green and clear waters, hot waters, few waves, many coconnuts around it, very white sands, large grains of sand, beautiful people walking down the beach, a good restaurant near the beach, etc.

A lot of people around. I love having the dunes right behind you and the ocean all out in front. I usually tan, read, write, listen to music, talk, and take walks to just relax and look at all the splendor that is the beach!
