Winter in Brazil
Yes, winter is been starting in Brazil, but if you´re going to the North or Northeast regions of Brazil you will find hot sunny days (365 hot sunny days per year).
Hard winter we start feeling from São Paulo to the South (Curitiba, Florianópolis, Porto Alegre) etc.
The winter isn´t so hard in Rio de Janeiro such as São Paulo.

Yes, São Paulo tends to have a harsher winter than Rio. It can get quite chilly there to the point you have to use as least two scarves and thick jackets. Down south is also known for the cold and there are places that tend to snow as well.

I was just curious about winters in Brazil. Does it snow anywhere in Brazil? Are the elevations anywhere there high enough? Thabnk you for any information you can provide!

Hi Danno,
Let me explain:
Brazil is a large tropical country. The Tropic of Equator (line of Equator) pass in the North of Brazil (in Macapá city)so there are very hot and sunny days almost all the year, and the Tropic of Capricorn pass in the Southeast region (in São Paulo city), which is located São Paulo, with cool temperatures, but hot days in the summer, and cold days in the winters.
Tropical countries (Tropic of Equator) like Brazil tend to be hotter than the countries of the North or South of the planet.
Amazon forest reaches 45 to 50 degrees in some days of Brazilian summer.
There aren´t snow in Brazil, except in the South region which rarely snows some years, but very little.
Brazil is a vast plain (planície), but the Brazilian coast (Eastern Side) is a vast plateau which goes from the South region to Salvador Bahia, and this plateau is placed about 800 meters from the sea level. Yes, São Paulo city for example is located 800 meters over the sea. We have to go down the saws to go to the beaches. There is also a plateau in the center of Brazil, named Planalto Central, but in general, Brazil is a vast plain.
No earthquakes, no hurricanes, no snow avalanches, no tsunamis, but too much thunder rains in the summer.
From North to Rio de Janeiro, there are high temperatures almost all the year, but North region has high temperatures all the year (30 to 40 degrees). Winters the temperature goes from 15 to 20 degrees.
From São Paulo to Paraná (Coritiba) there are fresh temperatures almost all the year (20 to 30 degrees), but in winters the temperatures down to 5 to 14 degrees, too cold for us.
From Paraná to Rio Grande do Sul (Porto Alegre), South region, the weather is cool, not so warm, but so so cold all the year, in winters the temperature goes from 4 to 8 degrees, very cold to them.
The lowest temperatures in Brazil reaches no more than -4 degrees but only in the South region (Porto Alegre) and only in the middle of the winter, and the highest temperatures reach about 50 degrees in the North region, such as Amazonas state, near to the Tropic of Equator.

I just want to say, besides the above comment, that I live in São Paulo city, and São Paulo is a fresh city almost all the year, and hot in the summer. Here we have usually 26 to 30 degrees almost all the year, then 8 or 10 degrees are too cold for us, very cold.
