I'm considering going back to Brazil again next spring. Is there anything in particular I should see or do, since I haven't seen too much of the country? I'll probably be staying in Sao Paulo but I'm hoping to visit some ruins while I'm there, too.

Ilhabela and Caraguá are excellent sites to get acquainted with the antiquarian Sao Paulo. There are a lot of tourist attractions on the north shore that cater to this type of interest, if I'm not mistaken.
I've never been to Ilhabela. What is it? Why do you recommend it?
Thanks for the recommendations!
Ilhabela is actually an island, most of it a rain forest. But it has the most incredible beaches you will ever experience, and if you go knowing the history (it was once a pirate hideout, for instance) it's quite enjoyable. There is an article on the island here

Thanks for the link. I want to go to Ilhabela and see the beaches in person.
